i was just wondering if any one has had any SYN Flood Attacks
cos i just looked @ my router logs & seen that i had quiet a few of
them |

I haven't had any on mine, but I've found out that if you disable ICMP Echo (Ping), then you get a lot less attacks.
To do that, you need a software firewall? Do you have that? _________________ Bienvenidos! |

yea i can get one it ant no prob geting one but the server pc is a Slow "AMD k6 3d Processor with 248 MB RAM" so. & i run a chat server on it as well with ever thing i got runing it is slow slow i gusse i need to upgrade it or somthing |

Firewalls usually don't chew up that much memory. Kerio personal firewall is free, and if you are willing to pay, then Norton Internet Security is good. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

The Syn floods are hitting your router, not your server PC. Installing those registry settings will do absolutely nothing to help you... |

um yea it dose too couse it lags & blocks the abilty accept new connections. |

Yes, it lags your router and blocks your routers ability to accept new connections. How do you think a registry change in the software on your PC is going to update or modify the firmware in the hardware of your router ? |

by not buying the following routers
D Link
Linkys
the only router that i found that blocks this is Netgear
& that reg seting is for ppl that dose not got a network router
so yes it will help them |
