how can I use .htaccess with this web server? I want to password protect my directories.

Donwload version 1.1 ( http://www.aprelium.com/news/abws11b2.html ) and you will find there support for password protected paths. This can be achieved using the console and provides a similar functionnality to .htaccess files.
