Server is running fine but when a visitor right clicks on file to download they get error message and cannot download file. They are right clicking on a link to file I have provided. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Do you mean _big_ files? I have the same. "Download failed." is the error message.

Does abyss work on regular small files?

Are you sure you didn't restart abyss when they were downloading?

What type of connection do you have?

I have been able to tranfer files 250mb from abyss.

Sure, Abyss is the best at working with dynamic content, for ex. php, aptilis, cgi, etc....

But stucked with large ones :(
Don't know, why.

It is on our company intranet network. 100Mbit/s, no speed problems.
Server is Windows NT server 4.0, webserver is Abyss latest version.

drax2gma,

Are they download the big file using a browser? What browser are they using? IE is known for example to have problems with big files downloads (because it copy the file to a temporary location before copying it to the one you've selected in the dialog box). So the best is to try to download the same files with Opera or FireFox. Alternatively, use a download manager.

Can you locate in the log file the lines that correspond to their downloads and copy/paste them here? (please tell us what is the size of the file they were trying to download).

They are using IE 6.0 with Windows XP.

Download Mozilla, www.mozilla.com and see if it works.

It will not solve the problem. In our company employees are allowed to use IE5.5 and 6 only.

drax2gma,

According to the log, /test.x generated error 500 and error 504. This means that the server was configured to execute it as a script and not to serve it as a regular file. So your CGI settings are wrong.
Please fix your CGI parameters as explained in http://www.aprelium.com/news/12/cgipaths.html .
If the problem persists, please send your abyss.conf file to support@aprelium.com .
