| when i goto connect to the site through the net and not local i cannot log into the site i have a forum on there it just goes to page cant be displayed or goes to local intranet this is why im not getting people registering only visiting? |

Have you tested the site using a proxy server so you can experience it exactly as a visitor would ?
If there's any points where you had to enter an IP / URL to get the forum working, are you sure you've used a path accessible from the net and not just from your LAN? |

Firewall/router??
You have to port forward the listening port of you Abyss webserver thru your firewall out to the WAN otherwise you on your LAN can see but requests from outside are automatically dumped by your firewall
