I have tried following directions given in previous posts, but I cannot seem to access the router... My Abyss Web Server says:

Quote:
Web server local URL: http://127.0.0.1/
Console local URL: http://127.0.0.1:8080/

I also connected to the Windows XP Command Prompt, and the following appears:

Any ideas which ip would be used, or how to make Abyss connectable externally?

BTW: My network is wireless, linked with 'NETGEAR'.

Edit:
I checked my ip via the Abyss ip address on some forums, and the ip address in the command prompt... yet they are differant... - any ideas why?

If you noticed, ipconfig said your default gateway is 192.168.0.1. Go to http://192.168.0.1 in your browser to log in to your router. Then apply port forwarding/virtual servers to forward external and internal port 80 to IP Address 192.168.0.2.

I've tried doing that, but all I get is a login prompt, but I don't have any login info for my 54 Mbps Wireless Router WGR614 v4.

That would be the point that you go to the Netgear site and look for the manual...

Figure 2-4: Log in to the router
b. For security reasons, the router has its own user name and password. When prompted, enter admin for the router user name and password for the router password, both in lower case letters.

Also, I do believe Netgear does not support loopback; meaning if you try entering your external IP from a computer on the same network as Abyss, it will not work.

(Because I've heard that they use D-Link technology; which does not support loopback).

No problem. If you would like to view your website from your own computer with a router that does not support loopback, then you can go to a page such as http://anonymizer.com or http://proxify.com (or get a real proxy sevrer. Search google for "proxy list").
