Nameserver denies access to one of my DNS records.

When I tried and failed today to change my DNS record to a new IP and my local server, I got the following ticket

"Thanks for your reply.

I'm afraid for a reference only there is no DNS enabled.

It was warned that removing the hosting would lose your services which is why I double checked here.

You would need to transfer the domain or move the nameservers to them.

Are there any controls on what nameservers can do. I have spent a lot of time and money building a system around this particular domain name.
