Hello
I want my website to check if another webserver is online. I have a link to a friend's webserver and I want the status beside. I think it's possible, maybe if I can get my site to ping his server... Does anybody know how I can do?

Welcome to the fourms.
There is a website that will check the status for you. I will be home in a couple hours, and if no one responds, I can get the link for you.
What I'm mainly saying is that it is possible.

Joel,
Programming a small script that will download the main page of your firend's site can solve the problem. If the site is up, the page is retrieved. If not, the connection is refused or timeouts and so the site is down.

If you have a router config problem, please read my tutorial in the front of the "Networking Issues" category. Or, search the forums for previous answers that have been given to other members.
