(Welcome to the forums).
And if you want an actual TLD URL (yourname.com, .net, etc) then I can tell you how to set it up. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

The first post gave 2 free solutions. www.dot.tk and www.no-ip.com
www.dot.tk will give you a .tk top level domain (TLD), so for example you could register www.james14.tk - the downside is there is advertising added to your site for using this service.
www.no-ip.com (or www.dyndns.org ) will give you a free subdomain on one of their TLDs, so for example your site would be james14.no-ip.com or james14.dyndns.org. They have various TLD's to choose from and are both free services. If you have a dynamic IP address then you'd be better off with one of these two services as there are a number of clients available to make sure the subdomain always points to your current IP automatically.
BTW £1.99 a year is around $4 a year. Not $3 a month. |

you can turn the advertising on dot tk off and you can have up to 3 free domains but it slows your site down a bit and it uses frames so it screws up cookies sometimes. on the upside its the best free solutions youve got before going to subdomains which arent very good |

Note for all: It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a completely FREE TLD (Top level domain; meaning .com, .net, and .org). Even if the name itself is free, you will have to pay for something in the end. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

where can i register at .tk thats free? it says:
The cost of your domain name is USD 500.00 per year.
and on no-ip you have to pay in order to get a domain name.
iNaNiMaTe was right, you have to pay for something in the end anyway |

No-IP is for free subdomains, not TLDs. |

SubDomain is not really free. You are simply borrowing it and or adding advertise as well.
No-Ip is also borrowing type of service you using.
So far, I never seen any trully free TLD or Domain. _________________ CapFusion,... |

Just for added hits....1and1.com pricing in USD is 5.88 a year for a domain...I bought mine through them. heheh, ain't gonna really find one cheaper!
Oh, and as for your search for a 'freebie' domain name...GOOD luck. Same goes with for the webhosting...thus why Aprelium had come out with Abyss probably...which is what I use...although still learning a lot, it's come in handy. :) |
