I have a static IP address (63.228.179.66). I have installed the web server on a computer running windows xp home. I can access my web page (main page index.html) from another computer using the internal IP (192.168.1.10) and it works fine. Trying to access the same page using the external IP gives me a blank page. Others trying to access the page outside the intranet get an error page (can't find). I have the port forwarded on my lynksys BEFSR41 router. I have tried port 80, 8000, 8080, 21208, and other random ports. I have disabled the firewall and put the router in DMZ mode for troubleshooting (re-enabled now). I've read through many of the posts on this subject and tried many of the solutions suggested, but I'm butting my head here. Any other suggestions? |

Thanks for the link, though I have already tried all the suggestions mentioned. I've done all kinds of port forwarding, disabled the firewall and any other application I could, booted without loading the start up items in msconfig so other programs wouldn't conflict, and still there is no connection using the external IP through Proxify. I am able to run a ventrilo server on the same computer (though now disabled) and have others connect to it. Maybe this software just isn't working on my system, though I can connect to it fine from my other computer using the internal IP. |
