				| Question two, is this even going to be possible without a domain name. . .or do I HAVE to purchase one? | |

				| You don't need a domain name, if you choose people can connect to you just by remembering your IP - easier said than done  I'd recommend a dynamic DNS service like www.dyndns.org or www.no-ip.com - this won't get you a top level domain name, but it is completely free and will get you an easy to remember hostname, e.g. http://mikes.no-ip.com
If you have a static WAN IP, you can just enter it on their site once you've created an account, if you have a dynamic IP, you'll need to use a client such as DNSer - www.access.si/DNSer/DNSer.htm - to update your profile on their records.

Coming back to the virtual server, that behaviour is normal. You should also be able to connect to your computer by it's LAN IP ? You generally can't access your own PC from behind your own router - it can't handle loopback WAN traffic. You'll probably find that your server is working fine :) You need to use a proxy to check whether the WAN IP setup is working, eg http://www.proxyweb.net/

				| well if you can't get it by ip, then neither will any of those services, but what happened when you tried a diff. port? _________________

				| No worries, I fianlly figured it out.
Router was letting Port80 traffic through, but my NIC Hardware firewall was not. . . .opened the port and it runs!
