				| I am running abyss web server on windows xp home on my cable connection. I am running it from my workstation and i don't have a home network, just this pc. I can view my site using http://127.0.0.1 but if i type my wan ip it or my domain name i get "this page cannot be displayed". I have checked that port 80 is open, i do not have windows firewall running, i am using zonealarms free firewall and have told it to let abyss access the internet although i still can't veiw my site using my wan ip. I tried closing zonealarm altogether and this didnt help the problem either. I haven't changed any settings in abyss i am using all the defaults. If anyone has any suggestions i would be greatful as i am new to this and totally at a loss. thanks!

				| You said there was no firewall/router in the mix? Just simply "Cable connection --> Your computer?"

				| Does your ISP block port 80, try changing the port. _________________

				| Access your router directly to check it's IP, it should list it on whatever status page it has if it has a web interface.
You cannot access your own WAN IP from behind a router - if you want to view your own website via it's domain name / no-ip name you will need to add an alias for it to your Windows hosts file so that Windows does not attempt to send traffic out over the router and instead directly accesses your webserver.

 See my example here :

or search the forum for "Hosts file"
