I want my CGI-Folder access to be denied by all users without the promt window of user name/password but still let the .cgi and .pl to be executed....is there a way to do this!

You can't do this in a single step. If your CGI folder contains .cgi, .pl and for example .txt files, you must create an access rule to password protect /cgi-bin/*.txt (you must use version 1.2).

I don't uderstand...Habe you ever been to a site that has done something like that. Look at my friends for example: http://www.breadcrumbint.com/cgi-bin/ no promts or anything...but it lets you access the files...but maybe that you chmodd everything? Cuase that is what I would like, but I'm on a windows based.

Couldn't you just create and index file?
I don't think abyss it's self can do that.

To have the same result as the page you cited, set Automatic Directory listing in server parameters to No. You can also put an index.html file with a small message in cgi-bin.

Ok , all I used was a index.html to create that cgi-bin thing
so I can have my other file directories accessed. Later!
