Also, you probably don't need the "www" part. You can make your subdomain name shorter by just using "http://webdesigndirectuk.no-ip.com" as your URL. Just a helping hint... ;) _________________ DLashley |

I get this:
Sorry, the dynamic DNS host www.webdesigndirectuk.no-ip.com was not found.
You have reached a dynamic DNS host that does not exist or one that was added within the last 5 minutes and has not yet been added to our nameservers. Please check the URL for proper spelling. If the url is correct and this is a recently added host, please wait a few minutes and try again.
so i cant get to this site |

I have decided not to host my website anymore as I can get hosting for £20 per year.
Please look at my site, www.broadlinkdesign.com.
Any comments/suggestions welcome.
Regards

I decided to leave abyss as I beleive that it's more hassle than it's worth. I pay a web host £20 per year for everything set up (MySQL, PHP, Perl.....etc). Also security was a bit of an issue.
The guys at Abyss are doing a great job, I thoroughly enjoyed using the software, but, when compared for paid hosting ther really isn't much competition.
Thanks

What do you mean 4ghz with all that
I have already said why I'm not hosting my site, I liked doing it but it doesnt really compare to paid hosting.

Its only a security issue if you allow hosting for PHP
and cgi scripts because in PHP , their is an option to
list a directory on the server and delete it , with a very
small 4 lines code you can easily delete that persons
windows folder on the server Operating System lol.
Im not telling you how but I know
it can be done because I tried it :twisted: |

I say their is an option in PHP is becuase PHP uses the rmdir() function
that can delete almost any directory outside the server root if the directory
has Delete permission that is , on linux you should be safe hosting PHP.
Becareful if you do host PHP scripts for people :D
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The code is simple !
Code: |
<?php
$Directory = "C:/Files";
rmdir ($Directory);
print "Directory Deleted Successfully !";
?> |
This code is only used for stuff like File manager scripts and
is not really used for situations like these but can be used for
things like this , don't do anything stupid ! |

TRUSTpunk,
If you host other people scripts, it is better to set PHP to run in the safe mode (http://www.php.net/features.safe-mode). _________________ Support Team

Don't worry though, only you can write the script and upload it onto your server (that is; if you don't allow anyone else access). _________________ Bienvenidos! |
