I added <% Response.Write "Written" %> to the page created when the server was installed, and renamed the file Index.asp
When I went to that page in a browser I didnt see the text Written
I went to view source and in the source, at the same place where I had added it, I saw <% Response.Write "Written" %> |

http://www.selisoft.com/en/ahtml/
... but if you're just starting out, learn PHP or some other language instead - ActiveHTML isn't free. |

Thanks, however I already know ASP, so I would rather try to stick with that.

In these instructions I see that I need to download ActiveHTML from SeliSoft, however they no longer have a free version. Is there somewhere else I could download this from for free?

You'll have to try and track down one of the older versions. If you google for ActiveHTML and trawl through out of date freeware sites you should turn it up... |
