				Hi,

I followed the tutorial by Victor Gonzalez to install my SQL. When I start it I get the green traffic light in the system tray, but if I try to connect to it in a PHP script I get the message "Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061". Also, I get a similar message if I try to invoke "mysql" from the command line. Can anyone help as I am new to any form of SQL. (I am on WinXP with Perl and PHP installed as well.) I am sure it is simple but I am stuck, which is embarassing for a fulltime programmer (C on Unix).

All help will be gratefully received.

Thank you.

				ecawilkinsonn,

Please search for the string "10061" on this forum. This MySQL problem has been discussed many times before. _________________ Support Team
