I hope this isn't a stupid question, but, here goes...

I'm in the process of learning Visual Basic .net

Whenever I go to try and create a new ASP.NET Web Application in MS Visual Studio, and set the application's location to http://127.0.0.1:8080/projectname (which is how I have the Abyss Web Server configured) I get an error message that says

"Visual Studio .NET has detected that the specified Web Server is not running ASP.NET Version 1.1"

Does anyone know how I can get Abyss Web Server to run ASP 1.1?

Thanks!

Abyss Web Server has no support for ASP.Net now. Only classical ASP is supported.

If you want something small that supports ASP.net to run alongside Abyss, have a look at Cassini...

ASP.NET is not the same as ASP.

Although .NET can parse ASP pages, you need to have the .NET framwork installed.

Abyss and ActiveHTML do not support .NET.

Your best bet is to either use IIS (personal edition only supports 10 connection). or Use classic ASP.
