Why do it show that in PHPBB2 Install?

Well, it can't connect to your database. If you have phpMyAdmin or something that manges your mysql, make sure that if you set a username and password that they are correct. Otherwise, keep it as root. Also, make sure you gave it the right version of mysql. If you didn't, it will not be able to connect. Also, make sure the database name you gave already exsitist. I ran into this problem a few times when I installed my Invision board (its like phpbb).
