There is a possiblity that his Domain Fees are tied into his cost that he pays the webhost. Some do that. In the event that he was to stop having is website hosted by that company, he would have to pay the domain every year like the rest of the world.
If you don't want your IP to be shown, you could use dyndns.org, but the techie people know that a simple ping on that domain will reveal the ip that it points to.
Just make sure you keep all your other ports firewalled down and you should have no problem revealing your ip address.

I have an idea , their is a way to get a free you.tk domain http://dot.tk but it is a redirection type , the best thing you can do is sign up with an account with the sub domain service http://no-ip.com and link to that URL using your .tk domain and link to your files using the no-ip.com sub domain , thats what I do all the time. 8) |

Soon after getting the Server I realized that I needed a domain name because no one is going to remember my ip address to come to the site, Not only that I did'nt want to pay for it. After a bit of surfing and a really long night GUESS WHAT I found something. Http://www.dynup.net provides you with a free Domain name for home webserver users. Now My Web Address Is Http://www.angelrosesmetalmania.dynup.net Its that simlple. I hope this helps me people out. |

Technically you have a subdomain. You can register a real domain for less than $10 (US) and use one of the many free dns services. Some of these also support dynamic IP's. That is one long domain name you have, I probably could remember your IP more easily. |

using .tk name works well for me.
about the banner ad, just include following jscript to break out of the frames provided by dottk.
<script language="Javascript" type="text/javascript">
<!--prevent display on non-JS browsers
if (top.location != self.location) {
top.location = self.location};
//end-->
</script>
This allows you to redirect cleanly and removes the banner popup, because it is executed before it pops up.
