Hi ppl. I just upgraded to XP pro. I want to know whether I should uninstall the Client Service for NetWare (to allow for fast-user switching). I've heard from various places that it messes up the comp. Please reply.. thanks. _________________ Vijay Narayanan

All what we can say is that Abyss Web Server does not need Netware client service to run. The only network component that is mandatory is TCP/IP (which comes now installed by defult on modern Windows versions). _________________ Support Team

There is no need for Netware client unless you need to authenticate to a Netware tree. It disables fast user switching to make it so the user is forced to login into the NDS tree to get thier security permissions... Depending on how the client is installed, you can log into XP without authenticating against a tree.
I don't know your environment or why the client was installed in the first place, but removing the client from your computer might prevent you from accessing other network resources... |
