RoR: Recognition failed for "/"

I run Abyss as my web server on my home machine, basically just parking my domain since I only have a couple of standard HTML pages at the moment.

Now I need to learn Rails ... so, I have done a fresh install of Abyss X1 2.6.

Everything works great ... so then I go through the setup here for Ruby on Rails. That seemed to go well. I got the rails cookbook to create fine, I went through step by step on the Abyss configuration and that seemed to go fine.

But now when I try to connect to my site I get:

Page title: Action Controller Exception Caught
Header: Routing Error
Text: Recognition failed for "/"

So, being only a moderate HTML coder at best, and a relative noob to Abyss (previously just running a vanilla version) ... I'm already above my pay-grade with this problem.

Can you guys help me start working through this?
