on windows 7 32-bit

just upgrade to PHP 5.4.2 (the one by aprelium, not from php.net) and got error 503. i just install without uninstall previous version (also by aprelium, not from php.net) and i just ask me if i want to keep my php.ini. i answered yes.

restart abyss service and open my website, got this error. then try to configure everything back as in http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/php.html

the only different with my current setting is i miss

Enter REDIRECT_STATUS (with no leading or trailing spaces) in the Name field and 200 in the Value field and press OK.

but previously everything was working fine. so i just add that setting, restart abyss and still the same error.

any idea? thanks.

Not sure why that's happening, but here are some ideas.

1. Did the path change for your php-cgi.exe file when you upgraded PHP?
2. What happens if you access a php file with just this code in it:
Code:
<?php phpinfo(); ?>

If you're still having trouble, backup your php.ini file you have now and replace the old one.

To other posters: could this be a problem with Win7 and those specially secured directories like "Program Files"? In my setup, I keep Abyss and PHP in folders off the root directory.

1. didn't change
2. same error. that's exactly the first page i viewed after finding the error

my php.ini i supposed was from the previous version because the installer did ask me if i want to keep my old php.ini, and i answered yes. so you want me to backup it, fine. replace with the old one? well, that php.ini IS the old one, unless aprelium screwed up up and overwrite it even when user choose the keep the old version. either way, i don't have any other old version of php.ini. i trust the installer do what it supposed to do -- i keep my old php.ini as i answered yes when it ask.

i could try reinstall php in the root of c:. currently abyss is at root and php in program files, and previously it just works. and if i do that, i will copy over my php.ini because i've already have some configuration there since like 10 years ago.

i'll let you know what happen after i reinstall php. kind of busy on something else, and using xampp right now. at least it's working right out of the box.

strange, or maybe this what cause the problem.

in php.ini,

log_errors = On

but there is no value for error_log (it's comment out)

so i just uncomment it and now it just works.

f**king A!!!

LOL Just like what happened to me. :) Thinking of complaining about some errors but when I was copying the exact details it went well. :)
