If PHP complaints about something, that doesn't mean that it is a problem related to Abyss Web Server! As PHP said, check your PHP configuration to see if MySQL extension is there. _________________ Support Team

i used up2date to install MySQL and PHP from the RPM files automatically, i have no clue as to if or where any of the BS is. Its not my first time using abyss web server, ive used it way back and what not so i know its reliable and stuff! But originally it lacked support for things like php and cgi and whatever so i never bothered installing or figuring out PHP and what not (though i do know how to use phpMyAdmin and other utilities of the same)l. Anyways ill look into it but im sure ill be back because im as lost as a lamp in a group of wolves when it comes to things like setting up PHP and MySQL to work together,,,, |

ok yeah i got it but now i think ii fuggled up phpMyAdmin, its telling me connection refused when i try to access the /phpMyAdmin directory. ITs a good iindication that php now has the MySQL extension(s) but a bad one because i think i f'ed something up. Anyways thanks for the support, i gotta go find out whats wrong with phpMyAdmin |

phpmyadmin had a config file... Within it you must update your information manually... server address, database name, password, etc... I once locked myself out and freaked but a little patience and sleuthing and I was back on track...
Just go into your config and update it... It might be easier opening it with Dreamweaver or phpedit because in notepad it will simply show up looking crazy and hard to edit...
I hope this helps and if you solved the problem please tell us :) _________________ Victor B. Gonzalez

What version of PHP are you using? What is your operating system? _________________ Support Team
