that 602 suite looks sweet...(get it?!)

I'm going to try that since SurgeMail's webmail has never worked for me and seems too difficult.

JTC (or anyone else)...

I was wondering if it's possible to get LanSuite's webmail to be served from Abyss instead of using another port for webmail access.

It seems to me that LanSuite is just using CGI to do the brunt of the work.

I have tried settnig up an alias in Abys to point to LanSuite's webmail folder and it half works...I can at least log in but the interface fails.

I have not tried copying it's webmail directories over to abyss (although that shouldn't be nessasary with an alias).

I'm just wondering if I need to install Pearl or PHP support for LS to work...

Ideas?

when I used the webmail I put it on another port
but now I just use it for smtp/pop3
I dont see why you shouldnt be able to install it so it uses the abyss accesible directories.
then disable the web server.

the problem I'm noticing when trying to run 602webmail through Abyss is that it wants to run from the web's root.

I wish I could get around that... without havnig to run another webserver

I've had fantastic luck with the ArGoSoft mail server - You can get the freeware version at www.argosoft.com (which is nag free, unlimited users, and does the job so long as you don't need multiple domains or web mail) A reasonable fee gives you a bunch of other nifty features but the core operability is still the same. (I use ArGoSoft's FTP server as well)
