|
|
Hi,
I've got a static IP, running a Belkin router.
The computer where my Abyss server is setup has an IP of 192.168.2.41.
I believe I'm suppose to set something up in the routers 'Virtual Server' setup area, specifying:
Inbound port
Type (TCP or UDP)
Private IP address
Private port
I'm guessing by setting this up, when I type in my IP of xyz.xyz.xyz.xyz, the router would then know which one of the assigned IP, like 192.168.2.41, it should route to.
Can someone shed some light on this?
Please help.
Thanks.

That is correct.
From router point of view, you need to indicate where you want inbound 80 or whatever port LAN IP of your Abyss is listening to. _________________ CapFusion,... |

I use a Belkin router as well, and have found it will work if I specify port 80. Make 2 entries for the virtual server; one for TCPand the other for UDP. Input port 80 and the IP for both. Then go to the reset page and restart the router. Go to a computer (not the webserver) and type in the ip address or domain name of your site. You should be golden at that point. |

Cool, we have a Belkin router user here. Thank for providing that info. _________________ CapFusion,... |
