System: Mac OS X 10.5.6
Mac G5 Dual 2GHz
5GB RAM
On this server I have a couple of dozen sites that work fine with the same configuration (as far as I can tell so far) as one that tends to fail.
The site is: http://www.rogerwadestudio.com
Try searching for an image using the word "porch", then on a results page click on "add to lightbox" for various images. Usually on the fifth image we will get a blank page on Camino and Firefox and the below error in Safari:
Quote: | "Safari can’t open the page “http://www.rogerwadestudio.com/cgi-bin/Panorama.cgi?searchLynx~cgiDispatch~addbox&0.6904223035089672&21637x1x581x5?rogerwadestudio#ARC6x6-2626” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection, which sometimes occurs when the server is busy. You might be able to open the page later."
|
At this point even static pages will not open. After a minute or so, the site will start working again, but fail again after adding 5-7 images to the lightbox.
The odd thing is that other sites on the same server continue to work using the same process at the same time, so it is just bringing down this site, not the entire server.
The only known difference in server configuration for this site is a 301 redirect from http://rogerwadestudio.com to http://www.rogerwadestudio.com.
Any ideas on what to look for?
Here is another site for comparison: http://douglaspeebles.com/keyword_search.html |

Hello cenocre--
Following your directions and doing the porch search, then adding it to lightbox I found no problems whatsoever using Opera 9.64.
