I will do it as soon as i have the money.
but i have some new problems i'm thinking i'll run into, and i'm not sure if there is a solution.
I have a dsl line dynamic ip. it changes every few days it seems like.
anyways, to combat this, i use zoneedit's dynamic update client, which goes and updates my ip in zoneedit's console so that i can still serve a page. fine. but if i work off of ips, there is only one for my computer, and how in the world would i serve multiple websites from a single ip.
i understand there must be some way abyss x2 does this, but i think because i'm trying to run off the zoneedit dynamic update client, i think there will be problems. mainly, i don't think i can run multiple instances of the dynamic update client.
basically zoneedit works off of ips. you have a domain, you get a zoneedit dns server, and you specify your ip.
my long winded question boils down to, how do i continue using zonedit with ips, if i'm using a virtual path. what is a virtual path, and does it actually have some sort of "ip" or something. do i have to setup my router differently than i have it now? you can see my website, http://www.theforemansfamily.com. currently using the ip of 75.88.111.133.
thanks. travis. |

Most dynamic update clients support updating multiple domains associated with your account. Check the documentation which comes with them. In such a case, your IP will be assigned to all your domains on each update.

All you have to do is to associate your domain names with your single IP. X2 can then know which domain is requested and act as a multiplexer: that what virtual hosting is.
