How do I use XMLRPC on local system?

I'm using Abyss instead of Apache, as Apache is so hideously impossible to configure, to run a locally hosted virtual worlds grid server, but some of the php scripts use XMLRPC calls, but it seems Abyss doesn't have that ability to accept XMLRPC requests,,,,,is there a module that would allow XMLRPC calls?, but only from a local source, much in the same way that mysql connects are only accepted from local scripts.
