Installing Abyss on Linux

Hello all,

I'm a relatively new Linux user, just came from Windows XP, and I used Abyss Web Server there.

I installed the Linux version of the webserver, and everything went smoothly, except that when I browse to my site, it gives me a 403 erorr.

I went to this forum and did a little searching, and saw the problem was in permissions. But I modified the permissions accordingly...but I still get the same error.

I'm running Mandrake 9.1, is that helps. For someone to help me, do I need to send my abyss.conf file? Or?

If you're new to Linux and its stuff, do the following:
* Login as a normal user.
* Install Abyss in that user's directory
* Run it from there.
Error 403 happens when the server is run by user X and the files were installed by user Y and X has no rights to read Y files. In other word, do not switch users. The user who installed abyss should run it in order to avoid chown manipulations.

I noticed that I tried to install it as root, and therefore my regular user couldn't add anything. Everything works now, and once again, thank you very much.
