I have my site created and everything but I can't figure out how to host it worldwide. I don't have a domain name and I'm ok with typing IP addresses because I'm going to use it for downloading my music to other computers. Step by step instructions would be appreciated |

You should know your real world IP, for that try getting it using http://www.aprelium.com/ip . People from the outside world will be able to reach your server using http://IP where IP is the IP of your computer (or http://IP:port if your web server uses a port number other then 80).
If they have problems connecting to your web server, please read the 2nd question in our FAQ at http://www.aprelium.com/abyss/faq.html about common connection problems.
If you're new to web servers, we recommend reading also the "Getting Started" chapter in the user documentation of Abyss Web Server. _________________ Support Team

If you just have an IP and your Abyss is set to Port 80.... Then just enter your public IP and that should be it. But BUT if you set your Abyss other then the default to PORT like 8080, then you will need to indicate your port like Http://123.123.123.123:8080 ..... Port 8080 is where your Abyss server is listening to. :D
I assume you have direct connection to outside without any like .. router / proxy / firewall? If so, then it should be OK. But if you do have something in between... maybe something else that you may need a closer investigation. _________________ CapFusion,... |

I am not if you made a typo "and it show probably", I assume it display the page.
If, aslong internal is ok.. meaning you can see your page by using 127.0.0.1 from your browser URL. The next question is... do you have a Router? And if so, is it set to open port 81 (203.XXX.XXX.XXX:81) in your case? Also, is that PORT81 being forward to your LAN IP where Abyss is listening to?
Your setting should be something like this:
1. Abyss is set to PORT 81
2. Router is open at port 81
3. Port 81 from Router is forward to your LAN IP of where Abyss is reside on.
If above are correct, it should work. _________________ CapFusion,... |
