I have a problem with using NO-IP. How do I use my webserver to host using no-ip.com. I tryed using web direct http://127.0.0.1:81, but then i realized that everyone has that same website url. How do i get it to work? What do I do. I already have Abyss Webserver and everything set up. What do i do now. Thanx in advance. |

Go here http://www.aprelium.com/ip/ and check to see if that is your address. It cannot begin with 192.* or 10.* or 127.0 or localhost. Make sure you're not behind a firewall or configure to allow access and if you're behind a router get it to map web request to your local machine which should begin with 192.* or 10.*
Good luck :) _________________ Victor B. Gonzalez

What happens if we don´t have a firewall and only ADLS (DSL)?
How do I configure it to the WebServer?
Please help me.

It is most likely a problem on the no-ip end. This is not an Abyss issue as Abyss has not control nor does it block anyone redirecting to it. Unless you have a script which prohibits others from entering but only through a certain address you might wish to announce this problem to the no-ip support. _________________ Victor B. Gonzalez

Natalia | You should not start a new thread in an already existing thread which is not really based on the same topic. Start a whole new thread and your answer should come much quicker. Good luck :) _________________ Victor B. Gonzalez

in either case, goto www.no-ip.com and download the dynamic update client (duc) for whichever version of windows you may be using... i'm not sure if they have one for linux yet or not.
anyhow, this should make updating your ip address to your 'mysite.no-ip.com' much easier

i'd rather use dyndns.org 's service, it's about the same thing, just more reliable and quicker update times. gotta go to there website, create an account (just pick a simple free one), download there ip-updater, install it, enter your user information, that's it.
if you are using a dsl router, check your router's manual to see, what dynamic dns services are supported by the router. if so. mine supports no-ip, dyndns and one more that i forgot. but as i wrote above, dyndns works best. _________________ --== tobi ==-- |
