Hello, I am looking for a means, a strategy to connect my current dBASE engine to my Abyss 1X. I am thinking about shifting completely away from Linux and using my XP Pro as my http server.

Abyss Web Server (as any other Web server) does not connect to databases directly. But you can write a script that does so and have it run and serve dynamic pages through Abyss Web Server.
PHP for example offers DBase connectivity and so you can write PHP scripts to read/write DBase files with no problem and then have these script run in a Web server powered by Abyss Web Server.
