I am running a Windows 2003 server using abyss and php/mysql. It works fine accept when i try to browse my web site from that machine (the server itself), I got a security box asking for user name and password. After i clicked cancel, I now have "page cannot be displayed". Could this have something to do with my dsl router? It seems to point to that because the security/login box is the router login.
But it works from any other computer in the world, anybody know what the deal is? |

The box will be from your modem or router. You need to disable remote administration if its an option to disable. If its not, your only option is to use another port unfortunately.

Actually i found a third option. Added this to the hosts file on all network pc's.
172.31.1.120 domain.com
The IP is the internal NIC on the server. |

you should not add your computer to a domain, just the workgroup should work fine.
make sure you try to connect using hdamusic or in explorer by clicking Tools > Map network drive > and filling in hda<sharename>
if you use a different username/password on your windows pc than is defined on the server make sure to "connect with a different username". |
