I am running AWS X1 v2.5 (HTTPS on default port 443), and I am receiving 'Error 403' when trying to connect to my site. I am able to access other files on the server, but not the main page. My directory is enabled and is set for the host root '/'. In addition my 'Index File' configuration is also set to accept 'index.html, .php, .asp, etc. My router configuration is set to listen to the appropriate ports... Redirect leechers is disabled... I have also setup a custom 403 Error page as demonstrated by 'TRUSTAbyss', that seems to function, but did not cure my 403 issue. Any suggestions?
Sincerely,
dev408
NOTE: RESOLVED -- Issue was traced back to the virtual path that was set for the IP address(s). All is operational, at the moment. Thank you for help.

You probably have a double extension for the Index file on your computer. Try disabling "Hide extensions for known file types" under "Folder Options", and rename your index file to the proper extension "index.html."
Did that help? |

Unfortunately that did not resolve my issue, although I can see how that might pose a problem. I am meticulously going through my configuration to make sure everything is correct. I have no problem connecting to the 'index.html' page from my computer, the 'server'. But now I am trying to access it through the internet from another computer... Again, I am able to access other pages (test.php, 403.html, even phpmyadmin) over the internet, just not the 'index.html'.
Thanks,

You probably get the Anti-Leech error for "index.html" because there's no referrer when you first come to the site. You should never set an Anti-Leech restriction on the main path for your site, or bad things may happen. If this still isn't the cause, add me to your Windows Live Messenger and I will help you fix the problem: msn@trustabyss.com |
