|

For those of you interested in knowledgebase and FAQ software, we have OmnistarKBase software installed on our web server (powered by Abyss, of course!). It is a MySQL data-driven, php, ioncube, software package that assists in the collection, categorization, and search/retrieval of information.
We use it within our family to document important family information to assist us in day-to-day life. We use Abyss' and OmnistarKBase's security to control access. We are loading a variety of information so that we may have immediate access to it no matter where we may be when the need arises. For instance, my wife and I have elderly parents that often require medical assistance so we keep their prescription lists within OmnistarKBase along with other information and documents related to them. Content can be printed and/or emailed as needed.
It should be noted that OmnistarKBase only provides a web-based framework for content. You must write content articles and categorize them based upon user-defined categories/sub-categories.
We use Abyss to provide solid, dependable, controlled presentation of the information via the Internet. We use Abyss X2, SSL, and the alias/virtual directory functions to also map documents to specific articles within OmnistarKBase so that family members can not only locate articles of desired content put also have supporting documentation.
So far the software combined with Abyss is working well and is proving to be very useful.

I didn't say that the website by OmnistarKBase Company was powered by Abyss. I said our family's was. OmnistarKBase is installed on our server which is powered by Abyss. OmnistarKBase is a commercial software package that you install on your server.
The link to their website was for reference purposes for those that might be interested in reading more about knowledgebase software. |

gsownsby, it's appreciative that you want to promote a product that works well with Abyss.
However, this section is for promoting sites that are "Powered by Abyss", not for promoting
products used with Abyss. This seems to be the overall basis of your post.
Moving to PHP... |
