Hi

This is probably I dumb question, but I can't figure it out for sure. Can I redirect an incoming URL such as http://myserver.com/camera1 that would normally need to be the virtual path "camera1" on my web server at http://myserver.com to camera1's built in web server at an address http://192.168.0.xxx/index.htm on my LAN?

I could not get this to work using X1 and was currious whether this is possible in X1 or X2.

Does the external redirect require that the rewritten URL be known to the outside world?

Thanks for any help!
Gary

You do this in Aliases, once the Alias is made, the URL rules can be edited.
Your aliases console URL should be something like follows:
http://localhost:8888/hosts/host@0/edit/aliases
Add the rule and redirect the rule to another server in the text-box.

But if you have not got an internal internet redirector (required), you will receive an error message in the real path.
So in URL rewriting make sure the following is entered:

Virtual Path Regular Expression : ^/example.file
-------
Case Sensitive
Conditions : Variable Operator
Empty

Apply to subrequests too

If this rule matches : Perform an internal redirectionPerform an external redirectionReport an error to the client

→ Parameter(s) for "Perform an internal redirection"
Redirect to :
Append Query String
Escape Redirection Location

Next Action : Continue with the next ruleStop matchingRestart from the first rule

→ Parameter(s) for "Perform an external redirection"
Redirect to :
Append Query String
Escape Redirection Location
Status Code : 301 - Moved Permanently302 - Moved Temporarily303 - See Other304 - Not Modified305 - Use Proxy307 - Temporary RedirectOther Status Code
-------
Perform an external redirection to: www.example.com.

Yes, but only if you want everyone to be able to see it. The external redirect is just a rewritten rule for an entire URL. You can use any URL, but make sure it's accessible by everyone if you want your website visitors to see the web cam. I'm guessing you want everyone to see it? if that's the case, make sure the web cam port is open.

P.S. You can only use hardrive/network paths for the Aliases feature.

Kind regards, Josh

I have tried hard to follow this discussion but got lost along the way! The Abyss web server is on my PC. I can access it remotely through no-ip and get the index page fine. I want to see my Naslite Files on a different local IP address on the same LAN/Workgroup and a pair of cameras, 192.168.1.248 ... I tried a link in the index page html but externally it looks for http://192.168.1.30 which obviously does not work. I tried an alias \\192.168.1.30 etc but that goes nowhere.

Please, somebody, explain simply how I can consult the Naslite server, which is http, ftp etc enabled on the standard ports (80,21..). The Router is an ARM8100; I have not changed that. I see that many people have achieved what I seek to do but I just don't get it-sorry!
