personal web server

hi guys

im thinking of installing Abyss on my pc but im worried about a few issues

i have used microsoft's personal web server in the past so that i could browse SSI pages locally without the tedious FTP'ing to verify the pages during development. however, PWS was a pain to configure and didnt really work!

ive been recommended Abyss by a few people and accordingly i have registered on the forum to read up on the posts.

i have read that SSI works with Abyss so thats a good start... however, my main concern is that i dont want to actually host a webserver for the world to use!

can Abyss be configured to only work on a LAN? is it secure? are there issues with its security being compromised?

i have seen a few other webservers which arent too flexible for configs so hopefully this one will be ok
