Aprelium,
I would just like to say that the pre-configured PHP package you have does not have MySQL enabled and it does not enable even when you enable it in the php.ini. This seems to be the case with every pre-configured package I've tried. I don't know if anyone else has found this but I have. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

AbyssUnderground,
The preconfigured PHP 5 package has MySQLi enabled with support for MySQL 4.1 and higher. Just run the phpinfo() command and check the output.
To support older MySQL version, disable the MySQLi PHP extension and enable the old MySQL one. Don't forget to restart Abyss Web Server after saving the new php.ini (it is in the PHP5 setup directory). This will force the reload of new PHP processes with a new configuration. _________________ Follow @abyssws on Twitter

I've done that and it wasn't enabled. It wasn't even enabled, and php.ini didn't exist. It only had the recommended and the other one that comes with it. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

I don't have that issue. everything worked fine for me and I just reinstalled everything into vista about two weeks ago with the latest downloads from aprelium and MySQL, and plan on installing another copy in a few weeks (finally getting a nice rackmount server up and running!). _________________

I have it working now but it took me a good 20 minutes. I had to make a php.ini, enable MySQL and GD2 and then kill the fastcgi process to make it read the new ini, and away I went. But it wasn't there by default in the preconfigured package. Thats what was confusing. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

I've just taken a look at the pre-configured package, and the php.ini file exists. Both php_mysqli.dll and php_mysql.dll are enabled by default. _________________ Olly |

Very odd. I definitely downloaded from aprelium and I definitely extracted to the right place... _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)
