Make Mambo Search Enging Friendly

Login to your abyss web server admin panel. ie: "http://localhost:9999"
Pick the host to configure URL Rewriting.
Once in URL Rewriting for the current host click add.

For "Virtual Path Regular Expression" Type your mambo directory or "/" if it is located in the root.

Uncheck "Case Sensitive"

Under "Conditions" you want to add 2 rules...
Variable Operator
REQUEST_FILENAME Is not a directory
REQUEST_FILENAME Is not a file
Uncheck "Case Sensitive" for both rules

If this rule matches: "Perform Internal Redirection"


/your_mambo_dir/index.php or /index.php

"Append Query String" & "Escape Redirection Location" Must be checked!


Once did this you want to login to your mambo administrator.
Go to
Global Configuration
Under the SEO Tab
Mark Yes to Search engine friendly urls.
Click Save
Logout

Note: When i did this i configured mambo first then edited abyss.conf using the admin page.
