I'm obviously new to this forum board.
I just have a quick question.
Hopefully you guys can help me out.
My insurance company sent me the file of my insurance so I can prove to the DMV that my car has insurance covered. In order to do that, I have to print out the file that the insurance company sent me. The file can not be opened under any applications. I don't know why. The file's called OCTET STREAMING. I was guessing it had something to do with the internet. 100% Clueless right now. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

OCTET STREAMING is a mime type, not a file type. Mime types are a set of instructions
sent by the server to let a browser know how to handle a file type when it's requested.
What is the file extension of the file you received? It's usually 3-characters after the dot.
Example= filename.xxx
(the .xxx is the file extension) |

the problem is, there is no three characters after the dot. its just a bunch of random numbers and letters with underscores connected to it.
all the description says is..
type of file : file
description : (this is where the numbers,underscores, and letters come in) |

See if the file will open in a text editor, like notepad or wordpad.
Otherwise, contact your insurance company and explain the problem.
Tell them to resend the file to you in a proper format. |
