This isn't really a technical problem, due to the fact i don't use PHPnuke anymore because it doesn't give you much freedom, I don't know how to help you with problems dealing with language etc etc. This happened to me once with YabbSE and I had to reinstall it, so your best bet will be delete everything and installing a fresh copy of phpNuke. |

Ok, I tried a new install, and it still gave me all of those errors.
Go to http://huntedhosting.ath.cx to see what errors I am getting.
I imported the nuke.sql in phpMyAdmin and it worked, but I just get all those errors. All of them are in mainfile.php |

I've even downloaded a modified version from http://nukecops.com and I still got a page full of errors. Till I get PhpNuke, I am going to have to settle with PostNuke. |

Someone, I need help. Why am I getting these errors?
They are all in mainfile.php and there are like a hundred of them.
I don't like PostNuke that much. PhpNuke does not even provide an installer... or does it and I am not seeing it. |

Leave the rest the way it is unless you know what your doing.
Now we are not done yet. Go to phpMyAdmin (http://localhost/phpMyAdmin) and
for the database you wanted nuke to install in go to SQL and at the bottom
press Browse and if in the beginning you unziped phpnuke into C:\phpnuke
than type on the line C:\phpnuke\sql\nuke.sql and press open.
Now press go.
If you see on the top a box that says
"Your SQL-query has been executed successfully"
than it means everything went prefect. Now go to
http://localhost/(what you typed for virtual host)
and your done. Create a Super User right away.
If you see many errors than it means register_globals is off. |

Try doing this...
Quote: | Ok, this is kind of interesting.
I was looking at the NUKE.SQL file and it says its for server version 3.23.54. Could this be the problem? And if so, is there a NUKE.SQL for version 4.0.15?
UPDATE
Well, this could work. I found on a message board somewhere to try this:
Open NUKE.SQL with a text editor. Do find/replace and Replace all the "--" with "#--" without the "". Then copy the entire text of the file and paste it into the "Run SQL query/queries on database phpnukedata" dialogue box. Then push "GO" It seems like it worked for me.
Hope it works! |

I too just got the latest BetaNC nuke cops version workign with this tutorial.
Awesome software, the tutorials really make this software work as it should and on the xitami issue it sucks big time, too slow too cumbersome and it aint as half as flexible.

I have it installed and working fine.
So i decided to test adding a new user.
THIS is teh error message I got,
Warning: mail(): Failed to connect to mailserver at "localhost" port 25, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini or use ini_set() in C:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\phpnuke\modules\Your_Account\index.php on line 146
Hmm, i can't send an email - where are the settings ? I looked in the administrator preferences and at the bottom is the pop3 server. My phpNuke is a local PC on my network that i am allowing a few friends to access via a URL I am giving them. |

The SMTP settings are in the php.ini file. Search for SMTP in the PHP section of this forum for more information. _________________ Support Team

Thanks for your help - sort of got it working - as long as we email people on demon accounts then the email arrioves, but not to hotmail or other - most odd.
Anyway next conundrum, and this one is really annoying me.
I have my server running on 10.1.1.12. Port 80 maps from my external ip adress to my server. All works well from outside, people can view the site, etc
HOW can i change my internal network to work correctly as i cannot access my own external ipaddress from inside ?
My main machine is 10.1.1.21
I presume i have to add an entry into my HOSTS to allow me to check the IP address out from outside ? But it doesnt work.
I have entered 10.1.1.12 123.4.5.6 (where 123.4.5.6 is my external ip address) |

Although I hate to say this, I think the only plausable explination would in fact be cookies. I suggest trying a new web browser like Mozilla (www.mozilla.org). _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Your not asking stupid questions and their is no
need to change your php.ini file , open the php
file thats supposed to show the error and add this
piece of code at the top of the script after <?php
Code: |
ini_set ('display_errors', 1);
error_reporting (E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE);
|

It would be a lot easier to change php.ini, because PHP-Nuke has a lot of files calling to other files. If you don't want the hassle of adding that line of code to every single one of those files (not to mention the hassle of finding exactly what files you need to change), I would suggest just changing the one line in php.ini. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Not if you put it in mainfile.php. All other files call upon it to execute properly.
But, YES, it would be better to change your php.ini file. Only because when it's
time to upgrade to a newer version, the old file will be overwritten and you might
forget about the added lines. |

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: message_die() in C:\Programmi\Abyss Web Server\htdocs\Forum\html\db\db.php on line 88
You said in this forum that it means the forum index can't connect to the database, and that sounds good, but how the heck can I fix this???
I installed on Windows 2000
PhpNuke: C:\Programmi\Abyss Web Server\htdocs\Forum
MySql: C:\Programmi\Abyss Web Server\database\mysql
PhpMyAdmin: C:\Programmi\Abyss Web Server\scripts\PhpMyAdmin
this should be fine since I checked the relative paths... |

Check your "config.php" file aroud line 35 or so and make sure you configured your database right.
If you haven't changed your username/password, then:
Database: localhost
Username: root

Instead of filling it just with NUKE should I change the $dbname with the DB path, since it's in a different folder as shown above? |

Have you created a new database for phpNuke? If you haven't, you need to open phpMyAdmin and create a new database called "nuke," and then leave $dbname set at "nuke." _________________ Bienvenidos! |

I tried 2 solutions:
1) Created in the existent MySql database.
2) Created an empty folder called nuke, so that PhpMyAdmin should see a new empty database, an then with BROWSE button added the
C:\Programmi\Abyss Web Server\htdocs\Forum\sql\nuke.sql
to fill it. Now I see the nuke database on PhpMyAdmin, but nontheless the error keeps still!
DATABASE IS IN ..\Abyss Web Server\database\mysql
PHPMYADMIN IS IN ..\Abyss Web Server\scripts\PhpMyAdmin
HTML IS IN ..\Abyss Web Server\htdocs
PHPNUKE index IS IN ..\Abyss Web Server\htdocs\Forum\html
???
I'm at a loss! |

Why ever PhpMyAdmin does currently work on MySql and PhpNuke can't even see it (if that's why I'm getting that error)?
And why PhpMyAdmin is not telling me that I didn't set a supervisor account to manage the database, and it won't allow mw to? |
