It is possible to host a webserver with a 56k dial-up internet connection?
If yes...how could this be possible?
I need to do something more than just configure abyss? like port forwarding?
Im asking this cuz no one(other than me) is able to access my webserver...
Thanks for any help... |

Yes, it is possible but I wouldn't recommend it. A 56 K connection is a maximum of 7 KB/s download speed. However, you can use Abyss Web Server for local testing. |

7KB/s max but the real speed will be more like 4-5KB/s when you include overheads. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Wagasala,
Yes it is possible to host a web server on any type of connection. But it must be on all the time if you want to have people access it 24/7. The connection speed must also be proportional to the content you have: so a 56Kbit/s connection is not to be recommended for a site with lots of images and downloads. But it could be enough for a simple site with little or no graphics and a modest audience.
You should also configure a DNS name using No-IP or a similar service since your IP will be dynamic. No port forwarding is necessary since a 56Kbit/s modem is directly plugged in the computer (and there is no router). You'll still need to configure your firewall to allow incoming access to Abyss Web Server. _________________ Support Team
