I have two www domains I just renewed and wanted to know if it was somehow possible to get the Abyss Web Server program to use that address instead of my Ip:port address. My one site has become very popular and is linked on many sites so to change the URL now would be a big complication. Anyway to get the www address to run through this program?
Thanks for any help. _________________ Jude

Ok, whoever runs your domain, they'll be able to edit your DNS so it will point to your abyss webserver rather than the current one. _________________ Any information contained herein is provided in "as is" condition without any guarantee for its accuracy, contains no warrantees - express or implied - and confers no rights.

Abyss does not convert your IP into a domain name.
http://www.dyndns.org and http://www.no-ip.com both have dynamic and static IP to domain mapping services. If you already run Abyss using a port number both of the previously mentioned services should be able to hide it for a low yearly fee...
If you have mega traffic or just a lot of traffic and ads which count on your domain then do not attempt to change it...
If in the end, you're simply curious about can you get your domain mapped to your IP the answer is yes. Currently, Abyss doesn't do it but the two services I previously mentioned do. Their so far your best bet and easier to maintain...
Good luck :) _________________ Victor B. Gonzalez
