|
|
If I rename a good home page from index.htm to
index.shtml with SSI enebled, and add index.shtml
to the server index list along with index.htm and
index.html - this renamed index.shtml page begins to
load but very very slowly. In addition I randomly
get an error from IE5 saying "Internal Error in MS
Internet extensions".
Has anyone else experienced this? I am using
W2000P on a P233mhz PC with 256mb ram.
Any help, advice, input appreciated.

SSI pages need more processing than static HTML pages. So depending on the number of directives in it, it will be slow to download (at least twice the time of a static page.)
"Internal Error in MS Internet extensions", as it suggests, seems to be related to your IE. This is not an Abyss Web Server issue (we guess that you include some data in your HTML page that needs external plugins, and those plugins have problems with IE.) _________________ Support Team
