|
|
Well,
I used a hamachi network before so people could access my web server using the hamachi's ip address.
When changed my ragnarok Server's ip so that they woudn't be using hamachi anymore to connect to the server just xxx.no-ip.org
What they used to do to connect to my web server is they'd type the hamachi ip address like this ex. 5.142.555.1/sgcp
Then they would be able to connect to the web server.
When I discarded hamachi I am not able to connect to my web server anymore just my router's page.
Remote Administartion is already turned off and I asked my friend if he would try connecting to my webserver using the ip but it doesnt say anything.
Router: Linksys

You need to set up port forwarding. www.portforward.com will help you do this. Your router is 100% compatible for this since I have the same model but different firmware. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Whichever port you are using for Abyss. Presumeably 80 and 9999. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

So I disable the Remote Administration for my Router.
Then forward and change the port on my web server? _________________ E.Yo~! |

Yes. The default HTTP port is 80, Abyss should be set at that by default. Just forward port 80 to your web server's internal IP (probably looks something like 192.X.X.X). _________________ -Blake | New Server :D

Thats right. That needs putting into the router. Beware that because this IP is assigned dynamically by the router that it can change, so if it stops working in the future, this could be why. The way around this is to set a static IP but we can do that later. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Is it possible to buy bandwith?
Like not letting people host your server..
They just provide you with the bandwith. _________________ E.Yo~! |

Its called co-location, and you provide the hardware. Its also quite expensive. It can range from $100+. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

No such thing as "cheap" when it comes to co-location. It works out cheaper to rent a server. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Well. I'm still stuck at this for how many months now..
I still haven't done it.
My Wireless Access Web is Disabled.
Remote Management is Disabled.
UPnP is Enabled
I changed the port the ABS host was running on to 8080
Then I forwarded port 8080 to my lan ip..
So like I connect thro either my lanip:8080 or wanip:8080
But then when they do it they can't connect. _________________ E.Yo~! |

People should be able to access http://WANIP:8080 if they are outside your local network. WANIP can change a lot or 8080 could be blocked by your ISP. So ensure that WANIP is still your router's external IP when people connect to you (or use a dynamic DNS system to have a second level domain name that hides your IP changes). If your ISP blocks 8080 (and some other ports), try using random port numbers such as 7543 or 12344. _________________ Support Team

I had the same issues, my problems was when i was accessing my site from my home network it would redirect me to my routers home page (ie admin page).
but, any outside people can view the site with no problem.
By using online web proxies i was able to narrow the issue down to...
Some Routers have a setting in the firewall to block access to the internal computers. ie redirection..
Login to 192.168.1.1 if you are using a linksys.
Click on the security tab then under the firewall section.
Make sure "Filter Internet NAT Redirection" is unchecked
on my motorola router i find it very confusing to turn it off and most cases there is no setting. it is just on by default. You can check on your routers page and look for the keywords "Filter Internet NAT Redirection"
for a better explaination just google "Filter Internet NAT Redirection"
Hope that helps. |
