Connection times out

OK well i asked this a long time ago and no replies and i still have this same problem.

When i connect to my website normally the home page pops up and everthing looks ok. then i click on a link to another page and its like the internet was unplugged it just stops and says page cant be displayed.

this dosent happen everytime but like 90% of the time.

i have my port forwding right (#1024)
im using my ip address still no domain. (75.26.*.*:1024)
i have dsl and connected to router though wifi (56mbps)
have my php, mysql, phpmyadmin, phpbb everthing like that perfect.
Also this will not happen if im in local (127.0.0.1:1024)

2.4ghz celeron, 1gb ram, dsl (6mbps down, 768 up)

does anyone know what the problem is, im really hoping to get it running right so i can sell my old stuff. :)

wow i figured out the problem really stupid lol

it was my virus software slowing down my connection lol

Hello helpers

I have an Acer laptop with Windows XP. The Wireless adapter has always worked fine, both at home and on the few times that I took it out of the house. I have just moved house and now it will not pick up the signal of my new router.

At first, it claimed to pick up a number of local signals but none of the ones that my friend and anyone else coming to the house could pick up on their laptops. Although it said it got good signal for them, everytime I tried to connect to the unsecured ones, it wouldnt connect but just start searching for signals again. I removed all the preferred networks from the network connections settings because they were acting like phantoms and now nothing shows up.

Everytime I search for new networks, it searches and returns nothing.

What can I do?

Hello jimmbanks!

There may be signal loss from your wireless router due to some radio frequency interference. Cordless phones (and Microwave ovens) that operate in the 2.4 GHz frequency range can affect 802.11b/g wireless networks. This may be the cause of why you're not getting a signal. Also, some laptops have a built in WiFi switch that activates the wireless antenna. Make sure you turn that on and then check for new networks.

Note: If the cause of the problem is a cordless phone, replace it with a 5 GHz phone (the 5 GHz frequency range only affects 802.11a networks).

I hope this is enough information to solve the problem.
