I have been having problems getting to my website by entering my IP address. I have read the sticky and have already forwarded the ports on my router and my computer's firewall:
When I try to go to http://74.243.59.213 , it gives me an error. When I enter http://localhost, however, I can see the website I have yet to edit. I am not sure what I am doing wrong here. Can someone help me out? Many thanks in advance. |

It is because the Belkin N1 routers do not support loopback, so what you need to do is to go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc and edit the hosts document using notepad. Add a line in there with the normal IP (private LAN) like 192.168.2.2 that your hosting the webserver on then put a space then type the web address/IP for site i would addvise you to have a dyndns account with a hostname for port 80 if your ip is not static.
Merry christmas, and many thanks
