Abyss Web Server X1 (v 2.5)
Running on Windows XP Home
I've been running my own web server for several years now without a problem. Now, all of a sudden, my site won't show up. I have temporarily moved it to my personal webspace provided by my isp. I am running Abyss web server, with port redirect to port 81. The port is open and the server is working correctly. If i point to my local ip, 192.x.x.x:81, my pages load. The only thing I was doing when this started happening, was making a few changes to some of my forum templates(PHPBB 3.0). I know everything still works, because if I point to my LAN IP, everything works fine, but not If I point to my WAN IP. Any ideas? This has me really stumped. |

Have you verified that your WAN IP address has not changed? _________________ Olly |

WAN ip has not changed since this started. A couple months ago, I had to replace my router and my WAN ip changed then, but I made changes to my server to reflect that and has been working fine until now. It only seems to effect http traffic. I have a ftp server and mail server running and those have not been affected. I have tried alternate ports trieng to rule out that some ports may have been blocked, still a no go. |

I don't know exactly what had happened. But I backed-up my config file and htdocs folder, uninstalled/reinstalled Abyss and now my site's back up running. |

i can tell you why in 2 words:
port forwarding
you need to setup your router to forward all requests for port 80 (default web server port) to port 81, and make sure the requests are forwarded to the correct LAN ip. that way you wont have any problems :) any more problems just ask |

My server was OK as well until I installed phpBB. After uninstall/install the server is up and running but I can't acess the sites (X2) from the computer where the server is installed. |
