Hi

I have Aprelium up and running and thought to drop a line about a very nice and FREE ajax file uploader. Great thing about it - and essential for me - is a progress bar. It was also very easy to setup on Aprelium. I just installed cgi - perl and also php.

My own installation is for transferring very big video files. It has been tested locally but only just put on the net. There might be some firewall issues but I think it will work ok. Here is the url to see:

http://192.168.0.48/upload_form.html

You can get the file uploader from here:

http://www.sibsoft.net/xupload.html

Now to try and get ffmpeg to run ok on this server.

Great script by the way...

Regards

http://192.168.0.48/upload_form.html is a local network IP address. You need your WAN IP address for other people to view it. You can get this at www.abyssunderground.co.uk/ip . You may also have to forward ports on your router if you have one and allow the ports in your firewall.

Oops - that was a bit silly of me. Just found out my ip address is dynamic too which is going to make things awkward. More info needed for sure.

Cheers

The no-ip dynamic IP updating software should help you. Go to www.no-ip.com, get an account (its free), register a no-ip subdomain name, stick the software on your pc and get it set up to update your subdomain with your IP.
