Tech gadget prices just keep coming down over the years.
An 8-port Ethernet hub/switch used to cost $80* just a few months or years ago. And now, I got it for less than $20. And with auto-sensing ports too (no more worrying about straight-throughs or cross-overs), full-duplex and all the "expensive" feature-sets I longed just some time ago. Heck, even the 16-port version costs less now than the former-priced 8-port version.
A 2 GB USB flash disk used to sell for $80, but now, a 4 GB one goes at $18 and even less at the warehouses.
One thing remains pretty much the same though. A gas lift clerical computer chair I bought for $17 around 7 years ago now sells for... still $17. What's up with that? :-P
* Prices were based on my country's exchange rate from a few years ago too. _________________

loloyd,
Most of the tech gadgets are expensive when they are launched as their creators need to get back their development costs. Once these are paid back, they can significantly drop the prices while still having a confortable profit. _________________ Support Team
