Hi all,
I'm new to Abyss Web Server but it looks very good and easy to use. I use it to make sending files and documents, like pdf, mov, doc, mp3 etc to friends even easier than by mail.
I.e. I want to give someone a certain PDF file. Instead of using a PHP script (like snif) I would like to be able to link to the file directly, but the other person should get an open/save window instead of the PDF being opened in Adobe Reader (in IE). Is it possible to configure Abyss Web Server this way (for certain file types)?
Thanks in advanced.

Its very difficult. Most places will just ask you to right click and save target as. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Not really. It depends on how the client system is setup. You have no control over how the user has configured their browser setup. _________________ Olly |

But you are able to force it with PHP regardless of the user's browser settings. I was wondering if you could also do that serverwise, but I guess not. I'll stick to the PHP-way...

I think only way to do this is with scripts. :(
You can use snif and inform link in following format:
www.yourdomain.com/snifdir/index.php?path=somedirectory&download=filename.txt
or you can use my script http://www.aprelium.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=71143#71143
Link in following format:
www.yourdomain.com/somedirectory/?download=filename.txt
This gives open/save window.
